Isn’t a Personal Chef expensive?
Having your own Personal Chef is more affordable than you
might realize. When you add up how much you spend every month
on restaurant meals, take-out, fast food, and grocery store
convenience foods, having your own Personal Chef makes a lot
of sense. My service costs about the same as eating in a
moderately priced restaurant (and you pay extra for gas to
drive there, leave a tip, etc). And you'll be eating much
healthier meals made to your tastes.
Could you just deliver my order?
State and county laws require that delivered food be
prepared in a commercially licensed kitchen. Currently I don’t
have access to a commercial kitchen, so I am not able to offer
provide delivery or catering services. How often would you cook for me?
This depends on your needs and lifestyle. Some clients
prefer a weekly service, others may only require a monthly or
bi-monthly service. During your assessment interview we will
discuss the schedule that works best for you.
How long will you be in my home?
It takes approximately 5-8 hours to prepare 5 entrees with
appropriate side dishes. This time includes unpacking my
kitchen tools, food preparation, cooking, packaging the food,
cleaning your kitchen and repacking my kit. I will be as
flexible as possible to adjust to your schedule.
Do I need to be home while you are there?
There is no reason you should stay home while I’m cooking
in your kitchen. During your client assessment interview we
will arrange a way for me to gain access to your home. I will
also “interview” your kitchen so I will be able to work there
without assistance. Most of my clients are at work while I’m
cooking. However, if you need to be home on cheffing day, no
problem. However, when I am cooking for you, your kitchen is
my “office” and I am focused on preparing quality meals for
you.
How will my meals be packaged?
During your assessment interview we will discuss the
various methods for packaging, portioning and storing your
meals. I will leave detailed heating instructions each time I
cook for you, so it will be easy for you to put a tasty meal
on the table in a short time.
What is the difference between a Personal Chef and a
Private Chef?
A Private Chef is employed by an individual or family to
cook daily just for them. A Personal Chef serves several
clients, usually one per day, and prepares multiple meals each
cheffing day for the client to store for use later.
